Kappa Psi Honored for Community Service

On December 7, 2007, the Kappa Psi Hop team was among those honored for our community service in the DC area. Bellamy Management Services (BMS) identified Kappa Psi as one of the area organizations they wanted to make a charitable donation to. Seeking to recognize fraternities and sororities in DC for their outreach and community service, BMS invited the recipient organizations to their company’s annual year-end Christmas party.

At the party, Kappa Psi and four other fraternities and sororities were treated to fine dining, plush surroundings and the kindness and consideration of the BMS employees. As entertainment for the evening, each fraternity and sorority was invited to perform a step exhibition. As usual, the brothers of the Kappa Psi Hop Team had the crowd on their feet with screams, applause and laughter. In addition, videos were shown highlighting each of the organizations’ community service activities. (The Kappa Psi video can currently be seen in the “Videos” section of our website.)

While BMS chose to honor and thank the brothers of Kappa for our community service activities such as our annual blood drive, Project Giveback, Share Metro, We Feed Our People and Project Clean Streets, I would like to thank BMS for their generosity and recognition. It is indeed an honor to be in a position to serve, and although our service is not done for recognition, our resolve is strengthened by those who acknowledge our efforts to lift as we climb.
