Project Giveback

Project GivebackOn Saturday November 23, 2008, the Kappa Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. worked with over 600 different volunteers for Project Giveback.  Project Giveback is a community service organization based in Washington, DC that assists families across the city.  The brothers participated in Project GiveBack’s 14th Annual Thanksgiving Food Distribution at the Bell Multicultural High School in the District of Columbia.

The Kappa Psi brothers were instrumental in working with the distribution component of the operation, a part of the process that assembled the boxes and personally delivered the food baskets across the DC metro area.  Through their efforts, along with hundreds of other volunteers, the operation was able to assemble and distribute over 500 food baskets to underprivileged families in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Special thanks to Project GiveBack founder Ransom Miller, III, who coordinated the volunteers, corporate sponsors and politicians to assure that this venture had a positive effect on the community.

The chapter encourages area members of fraternities and sororities, businesses and the surrounding community to volunteer their time and donate financial contributions to this beneficial and worthwhile community endeavor.  For more information on how to assist with the 15th Annual Thanksgiving Food Distribution Drive please contact Bro. Rasheed Ali Cromwell, Esq. at racromwell@harborinstitute.com.Project Giveback
